34.5" Ivory (Blue-Eyed White) Jack
DOB: August 23, 2002
MDR#22372

Sire:  L.U.A. Mr. Tee, 33.25" Black, no cross
Grand Sire:  EMSF Little Anthony, 29.25" Black
Grand Dam:  LUA Black Beauty, 33.5" Black

Dam:  Merry-Go-Round's Dunkin, 34" Gray-Dun, NLP
      Grand Sire:  Untraced
      Grand Dam:  Untraced

When this guy was born, he was quite a surprise. His dam being gray w/NLP, and his sire black, and having had three previous FULL siblings of his. First was a black jack; then a gray jenny, (Miss Addie); then a black jenny, (Sootie) both of which I still own. I had never seen or heard of Blue Eyed Whites, and had no idea his parents were carriers of the gene. He has sired many wonderful foals, many of which were black. I have also retained many of his daughters, who are wonderful producers. He is a black-based ivory, and as I understand it, not all ivory's are black-based. He has excellent conformation, good bone and a wonderful temperament, which he has passed on to his offspring, and those "baby-blue eyes" will melt your heart.

ZZ has been an excellant addition to my breeding program. Although it does not show any black in his short pedigree, I decided to try him out and see what he could do. I figured it had to come from somewhere. Boy, am I glad I did. He is very drafty, has good black color, and he is the sweetest jack I have. He passes his massive bone, and rich black color on to his offspring. In his first year of foals here, I had six out of seven black. This year I am six out of eight BLACK, with one to go, and five of them are jennets. His foals are an asset to any breeding program.

ZZ is now being offered for sale since we have retained his son, Whose Your Daddy, in our breeding program. Visit our 'for sale' page for more information.

Here is a classy guy with an extensive black pedigree including, LUA, Circle C, Coday and DM Jackpot. He is out of Sootie, one of my nicest black jennets. Carbon has rich black color and no visible cross or stripe. He has good bone, and one of the most gorgeous heads, which he often passes to his offspring. He is correct and balanced and a wonderful producer. Many of my donkeys reach most of their mature height in their first year. Carbon was one of them. I had consigned him to the NASS sale in 2003 when he was about a year old. I ended up not selling him (thank goodness), but his measured height at the time of the sale was 31". He is registered and still is 32". He only grew another inch.

I am very excited about the addition of Duke to my breeding program. He is an unrelated ivory, and to my knowledge, not a black based ivory. I am crossing him with some of Mr Perlino's daughters, and in the future, to Sir BooBerry's daughters. He is smaller, with good conformation and medium bone. His eyes are a very pale whitish blue. I look forward to my first foals out of him in the Summer 2007.

Grand Dam:  Feather Ridge's Paprika, 34.5" Dark Red

Boo has sired some very unique foals for me, and I have kept two of his daughters for my breeding program. He has produced both ivory and black. He is a cross of black based ivory and sorrel genetics. He also is a solid ivory, has no cross or stripe. His foals have great conformation and wonderful bone and color. He gave me one of the darkest ivory's (Goldilocks) I have ever seen. I only sold him because he was so related to many of my jennets.

Black Magic has been magic for me. He has produced some gorgeous foals. He is correct, refined and they don't come any blacker. His jennet foal this year (Black by Design) is the blackest of the bunch, out of an ivory jennet. He is the smallest of my six herdsires, but related to many of my jennets, so I cannot use him very often. Black Magic is for sale. Visit our 'for sale' page for more information.

I co-own DD Aces High with Dennis Banning of Feather Ridge Farm. We have both used him, and he has given us some fine foals. I have several of his daughters in my breeding program. Carbon Black is his son. He has good conformation, a broad chest and that gorgeous head that he passes on to his offspring (Carbon Black has it), along with an impressive pedigree of black including DM Jackpot and Circle C. He has truly been an asset to my blacks. Aces High is for sale! Visit our 'for sale' page for more information!

Sire:  Braying Pines B.J.'s ZZ Top, 32" Black, No Cross
Grand Sire:  Braying Pines Applejack's Allegre, 30.5" Gray-Dun
Grand Dam:  Braying Pine's Jenna, 30.75" Gray & White Spotted

Dam:  Merry-Go-Round's Miss Diva, 34" Black w/Cross
Grand Sire:  Double D Aces High, 32" Black w/Cross
      Grand Dam:  Merry-Go Round's Miss Addie, 34" Gray-Dun

This fine young jack is maturing into a beautiful future herdsire. He is compact, developing substantial bone like his sire, ZZ Top. He has a great black pedigree including Dewey Meadows, LUA and Circle C, plus some out of ZZ that is relatively unknown. As a yearling he measures just under 30". I do not expect him to exceed 32", probably around 31 1/2 at the most. His color is a rich, deep, vibrant black with light points. He has no cross or stripe, and is very sweet and gentle. I look forward to his first foals in future years.

He got his name, because his dam was due to foal on Aug 4, 05. That day came and went, and she didn't even look close. I remembered that Carbon Black had got in with the girls on Sept 4, 2004 (I had noted it in my book, in case of any surprises). None of the jenny's appeared the least bit interested in him, and I put him back where he belonged.

Well, when Daddy's dam Diva foaled almost two weeks overdue, and he was so small (I didn't measure him, it was obvious) I began to wonder if maybe something had went on with Diva. He was either 2 weeks late if ZZ was the sire, or 2 weeks early if Carbon was the sire. So, I had them DNA tested. Turns out ZZ was the sire, and she carried him 12 1/2 months. All while we waited for the test results, we kept saying "Who's Your Daddy", hence the name.
